Siamotyrannus and Tarbosaurus were completely different-sized carnivorous dinosaurs. A Tarbosaurus was taller, longer, and heavier than a Siamotyrannus. The Tarbosaurus also had a stronger bite and would win most battles.

The Siamotyrannus is a little-known dino originally mistaken for a Tyrannosaurid. It was much smaller than the Tarbosaurus. This meant that the Tarbosaurus would probably win every battle.
How big was the Siamotyrannus?
The Siamotyrannus was about 23 feet long and 6 feet tall. Some scientists think the Siamotyrannus could’ve been bigger but not as big as the Tarbosaurus. The Siamotyrannus walked on two strong hind legs and had a long tail and short arms.
The Siamotyrannus was similar in size to its possible relative Sinraptor. The Sinraptor was a medium Theropod dinosaur from the Late Jurassic period. The Sinraptor surfaced in China, near where the Siamotyrannus lived in Thailand during the Early Cretaceous.
How big was the Tarbosaurus?
The Tarbosaurus was a large reptile, not much smaller than the Tyrannosaurus rex. The Tarbosaurus could reach 33 feet or more in length and was about 12 feet tall. The Tarbosaurus walked on two strong back legs, but its front legs were weak.
The Tarbosaurus was from the Late Cretaceous period of Mongolia and China. Its territory was not far from where the Siamotyrannus lived. If the two dinos lived in the same period, Siamotyrannus and Tarbosaurus might have met face to face.
Were Tarbosaurus and Siamotyrannus Related?
Tarbosaurus and Siamotyrannus were not related. Even though the Siamotyrannus has a similar name to other Tyrannosaurs, it was not a Tyrannosaurid. When it came up, paleontologists thought the Siamotyrannus had Tyrannosauroid traits and named it for those features.
Later, scientists realized that the Siamotyrannus might be a primitive Carnosaur related to the Allosaurus and Giganotosaurus. The Carnosaur should not be confused with a Carnotaurus, a different dino. The only thing we know about the Siamotyrannus is that it is a Theropod dinosaur.
The Tarbosaurus is also a Theropoda but a member of the family Tyrannosauridae. This means that the Tarbosaurus is related to Tyrannosaurus dinosaurs like the T-rex. The Tarbosaurus isn’t as tall as the Tyrannosaurus rex but is still very fierce.
Which Dino was Stronger?
The Tarbosaurus was stronger in every way. It was much heavier and had a very strong bite force. A Tarbosaurus’ bite force was about 10,000 pounds. That’s almost as strong as the T-rex’s bite!
The Tarbosaurus also had a locking jaw. Once it had the Siamotyrannus in its sharp teeth, there was no way for the Siamotyrannus to escape. The only hope for the smaller carnivore was for it to run before the Tarbosaurus caught it.
What Would Happen if Siamotyrannus and Tarbosaurus Fought?
We don’t know much about the Siamotyrannus, but we know a lot about the Tarbosaurus. Tarbo was a vicious hunter, and the Siamotyrannus would have lost every battle. Unless the Siamotyrannus could run away, Tarbo was always going to win.
It was bigger, stronger, and heavier, so the Siamotyrannus couldn’t beat the huge Tarbo. Luckily for the Siamotyrannus, the Tarbosaurus lived millions of years later. During Siamotyrannus’ time, Theropod dinosaurs were smaller.
